Rounds 4 Research
Rounds 4 Research is an innovative program designed to generate resources to fund research and help ensure the future of golf. Golf facilities can support the effort by donating rounds of golf for two or four, “stay and play” packages, or other items that will be auctioned off online to generate funds for turfgrass research.
Rounds 4 Research was first introduced by our allied partner, the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association (CGCSA). After a couple of years of great success, CGCSA realized the program’s scope had grown beyond what it could administer and offered the program to their national organization, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), and their philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG).
Today, each of GCSAA’s 100 affiliated chapters, as well as local turfgrass foundations and other industry partners, such as our Carolinas Chapter, have the opportunity donate rounds and help make a difference. The EIFG will then distribute monies back to the participating organizations to fund research in their local areas. In the Carolinas, proceeds benefit turfgrass programs at Clemson University and North Carolina State University, where world-class research grows the game from the grassroots up. A second portion of the proceeds are used to help fund industry-wide legislative efforts.
Thank you to all of the Carolinas Chapter members who have donated rounds and supported this great initiative in the past; you truly have helped the CGCSA take this to the next level. As the program started here, let us help keep the most monies raised here and continue to support this great initiative.
