Program Summary:
This education will take us through the process from growing to hand harvesting of the micro greens and vegetables grown at Lucky Leaf Gardens. What started as a Backyard-Business in 2010, has turned into a thriving sustainable greenhouse operation. Lucky Leaf Gardens is situated within a five-acre forest which houses a state-of-the-art greenhouse which grows over 40 varieties of microgreens. The property also has various outdoor walking trails and a large orchard. We will have the opportunity to tour the facility with hands on education components in both the greenhouse and the orchard. After a hard day’s education, we will be treated at the outdoor pavilion to enjoy wood fired pizzas made with Lucky Leaf ingredients and wine from Dover Vineyards in Concord, NC.
