Education Information
img"How Can I Be a Better Me?" with Ed Gideon
How can I better lead my staff? How can I get more/better opportunities for my future? What direct results could this have on and effect membership growth and retention? There are key words and areas of importance that shape the two hours of this session: leadership, coaching and mentoring staff, communication, being a better listener, anticipating change, being an astute questioner, blending a story with your message to find the emotion of your audience that propels them to act.

First, in this session, you will learn and have fun; we will interact, but with a purpose. Second, there are no silver bullets; there are some changes that will be required, or resurrection of some great practices that have been forgotten/abandoned. Next, we will tie together all topics to answer the questions above and any others you may develop throughout the session. And, finally, bring yourself and three of your CMAA friends so we have 100 or more in attendance; they will want in on this learning environment!

img"CMAA University and Club Resource Center" with Sarah Bal and Katie Sterling

Please join Sarah Bal and Katie Sterling from CMAA for a short presentation detailing how to get the most out of the Club Resource Center (CRC) – whether as a CMAA member or as a club subscriber. Sarah will discuss how to access the many valuable resources available to members in the CMAA University area of the CRC – including CMI credits, certificates, archived webinars and more.

Katie will then demonstrate the added benefits that a club subscription to the CRC can offer to your staff and board – including more than 200 training courses, industry surveys and reports, job descriptions and reporting tools. Attendees will leave the session with a better understanding of the Club Resource Center and how they and their club can benefit from this impressive system.

img"The Executive Dashboard: Key Performance Indicators" with Russ Conde, COO & Co-Founder, Club Benchmarking
The Executive Dashboard of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) makes it possible to assess, manage and predict performance using a common set of key measures that correlate directly to long-term financial and operational health. These are the key measures that every manager and board should know and understand. Committed stewardship of the Executive Dashboard KPIs bridges the gaps and inconsistencies created by leadership transitions so common in the club industry.

Optional Event Information
Club Management Panel and Student Networking Event
Join the University of South Carolina CMAA Student Chapter on Sunday afternoon as they host a panel of young professional club managers who will tell the “real story” about club management life after graduation. All managers are invited to sit among the students during the panel (4:00-5:00 p.m.) and engage in a networking hour once the panel is concluded. Manager attendance is very much appreciated as this type of interaction with club professionals is incredibly important to the students’ development.
