The Carolinas Chapter is always well-represented at CMAA’s World Conference & Club Business Expo, and this year’s event in San Antonio, TX, promises to be no different. Click here to see who is registered.

Below are some key deadlines and dates specific to Carolinas Chapter-encouraged and/or -hosted initiatives and events at Conference. Pre-Conference:

• Enter the Idea Fair (by February 27 or on-site, click here for the needed Entry Form and shipping information) – Take advantage of this platform in which to showcase (and showoff!) all of the great things you do at your club.
• Vote Online (by March 5 or on-site, click here to join your peers at the polls) – If you are a Professional, Alumnus, Retired-Professional or Continuation member, you are encouraged to exercise your right to vote by taking a few moments of your time to vote online in advance of Conference for who of the many qualified candidates you believe will best represent our Association in the future.

• Sunday, March 8 – Carolinas Chapter Hospitality Suite: The Carolinas Chapter Hospitality Suite will be open from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. for some mixing and mingling with friends and colleagues. The suite will be located in the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the 19th floor; the suite number has not yet been assigned, so please reference the announcement board in the Conference Registration area for the room number once on-site. Registration not required; sponsored by and thanks to PAPC.
  
• Tuesday, March 10 – Celebration of Life: A Celebration of Charlie Hoare's life will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. near the Surf, Sun & Sand Networking Luncheon in the Club Business Expo Hall. Charlie’s friends are asked to share their memories and stories of Charlie on slips of paper that will be placed in a fishbowl and shared with his widow, Jeanie, and his partners at GSI Executive Search. Additionally, a special scholarship has been set up in Charlie’s name at Florida State University’s Dedman School of Hospitality, specifically for students that participate in the CMAA Student Chapter, so pledge and donations forms will be on-hand for those who would like to make a donation in Charlie’s memory. (Please note, the Carolinas Club Foundation made a $500 donation to the school in Charlie's name shortly after his passing.)
• Tuesday, March 10 - Carolinas VIP Reception: Damon DiOrio, CCM, CCE, and the Carolinas Chapter Board invite Carolinas Chapter members and their spouses/guests to a drop-by reception from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Click here for complete details. RSVP requested.
• Wednesday, March 11 – Carolinas Chapter Dinner: Carolinas Chapter members and friends are invited to eat, drink and enjoy a night of good company at Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden. Registration includes boat transportation to the restaurant, a three-course dinner, and two drink tickets for wine or beer (a cash bar will be available for cocktails and/or additional beverages); click here for complete details.
